I don’t know if this is an example of kindness or cruelty.
Here’s 26 facts!
Lita is a witch (half mage, half witch/wizard [I haven’t decided which parent wasn’t a full mage]) (1). She’s worse than most her age at wielding magic, which isn’t helped by her being the half-sister of Marius, who was a child prodigy (2).
Adalaide “Ada” Abramelin had a horrible relationship with her now deceased father, who hated her for being the illegitimate daughter of his wife and a nomagi (non magic wielding person)(3).
Lucian and Isla MacArthur are insanely wealthy mages who are brother and sister (4). The two work primarily with magic, but do not completely reject the idea of using scientific study to further their work. Lucian’s favorite creations are his glass spiders: enchanted glass spiders that can walk, as well as draw and store blood (5). Isla’s favorite creation are her rose tinted contacts: contact lenses (also in glasses) show you either an incredibly pleasant or desired form of what your eyes are seeing, but can also show the exact opposite, which can be very useful in an interrogation (6).
Quincy is a soul contained in the body of a doll (7). She can move all of her limbs that have joints (including a 360o turn of the head), but if something is cut off, she can no longer move it unless it’s somehow repaired (either with glue or fixing the ball joint), though her movement is then limited (8). Lucian, Isla, and Liam MacArthur are responsible for her creation (9).
Liam MacArthur is the youngest of the MacArthur siblings, and due to a mishap, found the soul used for the doll experiment that resulted in Quincy being “born” (10).
Sarah Black’s real name is Sharaten Carmichael (11) and her favorite colors are pink, green, and brown, in that order (12). More importantly, she goes from town to town on a (probably futile) quest to recover her dead husband’s soul, switching between 4 aliases and taking odd jobs for money, food, and shelter (13). She’s also the main character in my as of yet nameless story, which is in my main universe (all of these other characters are in this world as well) (14).
Marius is my main male character, a child prodigy mage, currently 23, and on the run from murder charges (15). He doesn’t have many wilderness survival skills, so the fact that he’s been in hiding for 3 months and is still alive is nothing short of a miracle (16). He’s a snarky bastard with an inflated ego, but Sarah helps him stay grounded being something of a surrogate big sister to him, as she’s known him his entire life (17).
Mirna is a mage and owns a successful shop in Renier City, a waterfront metropolitan city, selling magic’d objects, primarily charms (18). She’s a workaholic, rarely having time to relax with her friends, but has semi-adopted a feral cat who catches mice around her shop (19). She is a year older than Sarah, the two grew up together, and she’s given Sarah 5% off on everything she buys in her shop (old-times-sake discount, she calls it) (20).
Belinda “Bell” Abramelin is Ada’s 19 year old half sister who has a genetic disorder that causes her only gain nourishment by eating souls, causing her to be sickly due to malnourishment and anorexia nervosa (21). Because of this, it is illegal for her to be alive, and she has only left her house once in her life (22). She has a large vocabulary and speaks formally, as her only companions have been her sister, her butler/tutor/father figure, and the limited house staff (23).
Corbin Varis Giles is a crow-man in his mid-50s and Ada and Bell’s butler, as well as Belinda’s tutor (24). He has been a father figure to the two, though moreso to Bell, and loves science, literature, and shiny things (25).
Celia died a few hundred years before the story takes place, but is notorious for leading a campaign against the first mages which focused on “removing” mage children and infants from the equation, all while being blind (26).
